As the second week of September approaches, the unmistakable signs of fall surround us. Elijah’s heartfelt proposal to his girlfriend, Sarah, is set against the backdrop of the Art and Apples festival in Downtown Rochester. The vibrant colors of the autumn foliage and the lively festival atmosphere create the perfect setting for their love story. This Art and Apples proposal is an idyllic blend of romance and seasonal charm.
As we approached downtown Rochester, it was clear that many Michiganders would be at the festival. Brian and I were a little worried about the crowds, but Elijah’s chosen location was a little off the beaten path, which allowed them to have an intimate proposal without interruption.
After the proposal, we wandered around the festival to take some engagement photos. Sarah and Elijah were so natural together; their connection was effortless, and they couldn’t stop smiling and giggling. It was a delight to photograph them; their genuine moments were so easy to capture that they hardly needed any direction. Their comfort and love for each other were so evident that it made the session truly beautiful.
As we made our way through the festival, we had to get creative in blending nature with the festive atmosphere. We found secluded spots among the trees, tall grass, and a vibrant flower mural, and they even indulged in some sweet cotton candy. The weather was perfect for the day, with the sun shining and complementing their love throughout the event.
The last photos were taken in the middle of the festival. Brian just asked Sarah and Elijah to embrace and be in the moment. We stepped back and let the festival crowd surround them. These photos are some of my favorites, as it feels as though their love was beautifully encapsulated in that fleeting moment.
