On the 5th of July, we had the pleasure of conducting a Clarkston engagement session with the lovely couple, Tanner and Adelena. They specifically selected this date as it marks exactly one year until their wedding at the Bloomfield Hills Country Club.
Upon our arrival to Adelena’s parents’ residence, we were captivated by the splendor of their home and the surrounding property. The picturesque scenery offered countless stunning backdrops, prompting us to start the shoot on their charming front porch. In addition to the couple, we needed to capture some photos of Adelena’s dog, Frances. Although Frances wasn’t the most obedient pup regarding photography, he stole the show. He was incredibly cute, and I couldn’t help but adore him!
We strolled around the property to an open seating area surrounded by lush greenery. It provided a very romantic backdrop for the already adorable couple. Tanner and Adelena were beautifully dressed, and together, they created a romantic, almost fairytale-like scene for photos. I love how Adelena is backlit by the sun and in her off-white dress; she truly shines, and it’s perfect!
As we ventured into their backyard, we were greeted by the enchanting sight of a charming bridge overlooking a tranquil lake, complete with a quaint wooden boat gently bobbing in the water. These picturesque additions heightened the fairytale-like ambiance. To add to the magic, Adelena also carried a pristine white parasol for their boat ride, leaving me utterly speechless. It was as if we had stepped into a scene from the romantic movie “The Notebook,” and I marveled at our incredible fortune to be surrounded by such breathtaking beauty, just waiting to be captured through photography.
Brian joined them on their boat ride to take a few photos, and I have to say they are some of my favorites. He captured both the water and the sky in these photos, and I think they are pure magic. Surprisingly, Tanner and Adelena welcomed the additional company, embracing the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the moment.
As our time drew to an end for their Clarkston engagement session, we captured a few more photos of Tanner and Adelena. Our ending shots encapsulated their love and comfort with each other. I love how genuine they both are and how at ease they are in each other’s presence. It was a beautiful thing to capture behind the lens.
We are looking forward to photographing their special day in a year! The countdown is on!
