Fall Wedding at University of Michigan
It is funny how things work out – I was at the Links of Novi scouting a location for an upcoming wedding when I saw Chris and Kristina touring the golf course and banquet center as well, looking at it as their possible wedding venue. I didn’t think anything of it until I bumped into them in the parking lot and asked, “what did you think?” We started chatting about the joys of wedding planning and the myriad of decisions that go into it. As it turned out, they were still in need of a wedding photographer. I gave them my card and a few days later, received a call. As I began gathering the details of the day, it became evident that this was a different kind of couple, in a very good way. Laid back, low pressure, not caring so much about the production of the wedding but the preparations for the marriage. In short, they were awesome to work with. I mean, anyone who asks their grandma to be the flower girl you know is looking to have a good time at their wedding! They also trusted me as their photographer and included me in the planning, specifically where we would do the First Look and formal photos.
We decided to do their First Look at the University of Michigan Law Quad, a gorgeous Harry Potter-esqe place where the varieties of photos is only limited by one’s imagination. Here, Chris got to see Kristina for the first time and his expression says it all. One of the things I love about the First Look is the sheer emotion and authenticity of the moment and photos that come out of it. Would Chris have been so giddy with others watching? Would the moment have lasted as long? Would they have embraced so much, so intimately if at the altar? Fall Wedding at University of Michigan here.
From the University of Michigan Law Quad, we went to Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor, where the ceremony and reception took place. A smaller, more intimate ceremony followed where Chris and Kristina read their own vows, shared a tear, a kiss, and now a life together. Christina’s Fall Wedding at University of Michigan.
