Fort Street Presbyterian Detroit Wedding

Monday, October 23rd, 2023

Sydney and Talha celebrated their love and commitment with a Fort Street Presbyterian Detroit wedding ceremony, followed by a reception at Penna’s of Sterling.

There are so many reasons I will always remember Sydney and Talha: their wedding was beautiful, their souls are kind, their engagement session was fun, and how can I ever forget Talha singing to Beastie Boys when we first met at a local dive bar? Needless to say, these two will always and safely have a place in heart. Truly, from the first time we met to discuss their wedding, they felt like life-long friends. Seeing them interact and share a mutual excitement for each other and their future, it was like watching your best friends finally get together after what everyone saw was obvious – they are the perfect match.

As their wedding day approached, the excitement was palpable. Beautiful is an understatement. The wedding was exquisite, balancing the love and support of friends and family against a gala-like backdrop.

Sydney got ready at her parents’ home with the help of her bridesmaids. A team of pink robe-donning bridesmaids made atmosphere fun and jovial.

While the bridesmaids got ready downstairs, Sydney got ready upstairs with the help of her mom.

Once Sydney was dressed and ready, she shared a first look with her dad.

With the bridesmaids ready, we invited her sisters up for a quick siblings picture.

While Sydney was getting ready with her girlfriends, Talha was also getting ready just down the street from his Fort Street Presbyterian Detroit wedding.

Following the ceremony, we headed downtown to photograph Sydney, Talha, and the bridal party. First stop was the Detroit Public Library.

On our way to the wedding reception, we swung by Eastern Market for a quick photo. Keeping with tradition, we photographed Sydney and her family in front of their building and even recreated their family pose.

Prior to guests entering, Sydney and Talha got a sneak peek of their room. It was regal. Bellisario did an incredible job.

In one of the most touching and telling gestures, Sydney, a practicing nurse, invited one of her favorite patients who she works quite closely with, to the dance floor for a special dance. Judging by his smile, it made his day and a lasting impact on their relationship.
