When Zach reached out to us, he knew exactly what he wanted for his Metamora proposal: he is incredibly close with his grandparents and wanted a private and intimate proposal on their property. This property had held a special place in Zach’s heart since he was three, and he wanted to incorporate his future family into this cherished space. Zach’s grandparents were thrilled about the idea and spent many weeks preparing the property for the proposal. From building two arbors to laying a trail of wood chips and roses to lighting candles and cutting fresh hydrangeas, Zach’s grandparents, John and Marie, thought of it all!
Zach and Kaitlyn reside in the city of Chicago, so arranging the proposal presented many challenges. Zach took charge of every detail, meticulously crafting a clever ruse to lure Kaitlyn to his grandparents’ house under the guise of a trip to Frankenmuth. He also organized a celebratory gathering at his parents’ place following their Metamora proposal, with Kaitlyn’s family journeying there to join the special occasion on a Thursday afternoon. Every aspect was carefully considered to ensure Kaitlyn felt the depth of his love and affection.
With the sweet melody of Luke Combs’ “Better Together” filling the air in the background (we set up a Bluetooth speaker in the woods), Zach professed his love to Kaitlyn amongst the tranquil woods and asked her to be his wife. Overjoyed, Kaitlyn gladly accepted, feeling beyond excited to say yes!
We took photos of their mini-engagement session after they celebrated with a joyous “YES” (see Zach’s delight below). We used the property grounds to incorporate some beautiful photographs of nature. However, as we began, Zach’s grandparents walked down to congratulate them. It was a special moment for the family as tears were shed, and everyone felt pure joy. These family candids are some of my favorites!
After the big family hug, we returned to their session, and each photo showed their happiness.
We were so excited to participate in this day and couldn’t be happier for Zach and Kaitlyn! Congratulations again and happy wedding planning!
