As I share a genuinely moving and heartwarming Mission Point Lighthouse proposal, I urge you to prepare your tissues. This beautiful moment is overflowing with emotion, boundless excitement, sheer bliss, and, of course, some tears.
When Alex got in touch, he excitedly revealed his plans to take his girlfriend, Jordan, on a romantic week-long getaway to Northern Michigan. He hoped to start their vacation with a surprise proposal at the beautiful Mission Point Lighthouse, at the tip of Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City. Ironically, we were simultaneously in Northern Michigan for a wedding, so the timing aligned perfectly. As we drove from Petoskey to Old Mission Peninsula, we couldn’t help but reminisce about the last time we were in Traverse City for a wedding. We were excited to be back and capture another beautiful couple on such a special day. We arrived early at the Mission Point Lighthouse to get set up. Since it was so warm outside, Brian chose the water angle, i.e., being in the water to cool down, and I sat on the beach to capture Jordan’s reaction.
They approached the spot eagerly, not wasting a moment. Setting down their bags, Alex swiftly took hold of Jordan’s hands and, with unwavering determination, asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Jordan’s response was nothing short of extraordinary – an exhilarated “yes” followed by an expression of pure astonishment at the sight of the ring. It was BEAUTIFUL! Alex did an amazing job!
We then ran over a bottle of chilled champagne and flutes for them to celebrate the moment with some bubbly. They both were eager to open and toast to their future!
After our time at Mission Point Lighthouse, we headed to Chateau Chantel. We found out Alex had the entire day planned with TC Wine Girl, chauffeuring them around Mission Point to tour all the local vineyards. It was the perfect way for them to enjoy the day (worry-free) and celebrate hand in hand.
Upon our arrival at Chateau Chantel, Alex and Jordan wasted no time getting themselves a glass of wine. While we were waiting, I couldn’t help but notice some charming personalized engagement signs. Though some may find them a little cheesy, I thought they were cute. Jordan expressed her fondness for such gestures, so we decided to capture the moment by taking some photos on the wine deck before strolling through the picturesque vineyards.
The photos we took in the vineyards are particularly special to me. Each image exudes the genuine love shared between Alex and Jordan. Their natural connection and ability to find joy in every moment were truly evident. Despite the bright, warm sunlight, the couple didn’t seem to mind at all. Instead, they held hands and laughed their way through capturing some of the most beautiful engagement photos.
At the end of our time with Jordan and Alex, I couldn’t help but want to spend the rest of the day with them. They were so much fun, and we just had the best time laughing and hearing about Alex’s work to pull off this surprise proposal.
I know I am biased, but I think he did an amazing job. He truly thought of everything, even down to the dinner reservations he had booked that evening. Jordan thought they were just getting pizza, but Alex made reservations at a fancy Italian restaurant in Traverse City. I couldn’t help but smile; he had thought through it all so Jordan would feel special on this day. Congratulations, you two! We can’t wait to help with your wedding plans!
