I love sharing my love of photography and teaching people how to create their own beautiful images. There is something about creating an image and being proud of it that definitely marks that moment in time for the photographer. For me, this is one of those images.
It was an incredibly bright and sunny day, meaning that I had to utilize whatever cover I could to provide soft even light. I always look for geometry and shapes to pose a person or a couple with, to help guide the viewer’s eye to the subject. This walkway was perfect. I positioned the bride’s head in between the back archway and was careful to not have it go any higher or else it would compromise the framing. Turning her hips and shoulder slightly away form the camera suggests the viewer to look through the bride, balancing the framing of the background. Holding her bouquet down a bit allows us to better see the neckline of her beautiful wedding dress and gives her arms a slight bend, elongating them. Shot at wide aperture, the background blurs out leaving us to focus solely on the bride.
