St. Hugo Celebration

A Classic Wedding with a Detroit Athletic Club Reception

Some wedding days feel joyful from the very first moments of the morning, and Julian and Lauren’s celebration on June 27, 2026 was exactly that. Their St. Hugo celebration and Detroit Athletic Club reception brought together family and friends for a day filled with faith, love, and an incredible amount of celebration. From the quiet moments while getting ready to a packed dance floor late into the evening, every part of their wedding reflected the incredible community surrounding these two.

As we often do, Brian and I divided up the morning so we could tell the complete story of their day. Brian spent the morning with Lauren as she got ready at her parents’ home in Bloomfield, while I was with Julian at their shared home, where he was surrounded by family and close friends, preparing for the day ahead. Both homes were filled with excitement and anticipation as everyone helped the bride and groom get ready for one of the biggest days of their lives.

The Ceremony

Soon it was time to make our way to St. Hugo, where guests eagerly filled the chapel. In fact, there wasn’t an empty seat to be found. It was such a beautiful reminder of how deeply Julian and Lauren are loved. As Lauren made her way down the aisle, every eye was on her, while Julian’s smile said everything about how excited he was to marry his best friend. Their ceremony was heartfelt, intimate, and filled with meaningful moments shared alongside the people who have supported them throughout their lives.

Following the ceremony, we headed into downtown Detroit for portraits before arriving at the stunning Detroit Athletic Club for the reception. The classic elegance of the venue provided the perfect backdrop as guests gathered for cocktail hour before moving into an unforgettable evening of celebration.

The Celebration

The reception was full of heartfelt speeches that had everyone laughing one moment and reaching for tissues the next. Friends and family shared stories that perfectly captured Julian and Lauren’s relationship, making it clear just how special these two are together.

Once dinner concluded, the dance floor quickly became the place to be. Guests celebrated all night long, filling the room with energy, laughter, and nonstop dancing. Between the packed dance floor, heartfelt embraces, joyful conversations, and endless smiles, the evening flew by all too quickly. Before saying goodnight, we stole a few quiet moments with Julian and Lauren on the rooftop of the Detroit Athletic Club. As the sun dipped lower, soft shades of pink stretched across the evening sky, creating the perfect setting for a few final portraits together. It was the most beautiful way to end a wedding day that was filled with so much love and celebration.

Julian and Lauren, thank you for trusting us to capture such an incredible chapter of your story.
