Last week, I grabbed lunch and caught a Tiger’s game with a former bride and groom, Mark and Kate. While I remember everyone that I have worked with, their names came up when a recently booked couple mentioned them as a referral. I thought, “it would be great to see them again and say ‘thanks’ for supporting me.” It was great to catch up, swap stories, and talk about their wedding and what the first year of marriage has been like. With their wedding fresh on my mind, I dug up their photos and created this blogpost. It was fun to hear Kate and Mark update me on their family and members of their bridal party and remember photos I took of them. Looking back on these photos to make this post, I remember the day vividly – the jovial mood the guys were in, the warm bond between Kate and her siblings, the First Look at the Riverwalk with the skyline in the background, the long aisle and laughter shared between her and her dad as she walked down the aisle, the light coming into the church and photographing Kate with the window, the gorgeous venue at the Rattlesnake, and rallying 30+ guests to help with my first-ever sparkler exit. It was a great day. I wonder – if I get that much enjoyment looking at the photos again, a year later, if the couple does too? Am I biased because I took them, or do they enjoy them just as much or even more as time goes on? Perhaps next year, at another Tiger’s game, I can ask them and find out. Sts. Peter and Paul Wedding
Update: My fiancé and I will actually be having our own Sts. Peter and Paul Wedding in Detroit! After shooting several weddings there, we fell in love with the architecture and Jesuit beliefs.
