Sam and Evan had a gorgeous wedding at Cherry Creek Golf Club where all elements of their day took place there.
Months ago, I spent a hot afternoon photographing Sam and Evan’s engagement session with a special appearance from their adorable dog. The session seemed to fly by as Sam and Evan were joyful in each other’s presence. The photos showed it too. I remember driving home that night already thinking about their wedding and how nice it was going to be working with them. Sam and Evan have a calm, complimentary effect. Together, they are more than the sum of their parts. That little extra something is the love and support they have for each other, and anyone who is in their presence can immediately understand and acknowledge it. It really is a special trait.

Sam and Evan had a beautiful wedding at Cherry Creek Golf Club. Nearly the whole day was spent at this exquisite golf course. With the help of her mom, Sam got ready and became an elegant bride.
Once Sam was ready, she wanted to share a first look with her dad. He was very happy to see his beautiful daughter.
While Sam was finishing up some photos with her parents, Evan was heading towards Van Hoosen Museum in Rochester. Van Hoosen is one of my favorite places to shoot in northern Oakland County for couples looking to be surrounded by lush nature. Behind the old farmhouse, Evan waited patiently for his bride to arrive. During their first look, Evan’s emotions went from surprise and awe to sentimental and heartfelt when he saw Sam as a bride. It was a beautiful moment.
After a few minutes of allowing the butterflies to settle, it was time for their formal photos.
While we were photographing Sam and Evan, the bridal party was anxiously waiting to join their friends.
With a few minutes remaining, we used the opportunity to take a few more pictures of Sam and Evan. Personally, I love how they standout in a simplistic sea of greenery.
The white on white bouquet is a classic look, done flawlessly by Lexie at Floral and Flame.
After our time at Van Hoosen, we headed back to Cherry Creek Golf Club for some family portraits prior to guests arriving.
As guests began to arrive and mingle, Sam returned to the bridal suite. Their wedding at Cherry Creek Golf Club was about to commence. After Evan escorted his mom down the aisle, it was Sam’s turn to be escorted by her dad.
The ceremony took place outside on the patio. It was a comfortable June day with a light breeze. As guests watched, smiles and enthusiasm came over the crowd like a wave. Witnessing their commitment to each other felt like a seat of honor. Everyone was happy for Sam and Evan.
While guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside, we snuck in for a few detail shots of their reception.
As Sam and Evan entered their reception room filled with friends and family, the festivities began.
After an incredible dinner, Sam and Evan shared a first dance which ended with quite an exclamation point!
After the formal dances, DJ Joe Cusumano opened up the dance floor. It was packed all night.
Who doesn’t love a grandpa who has still got it?
As the night started to approach, I asked Sam and Evan to join me outside for one last set of photos to cap off their evening.
