Proposal at Detroit Opera House

As my phone rang from an out-of-state number, I was a little hesitant to pick up. Waiting for me on the other side of the phone was Zaid, one of the warmest and most enthusiastic gentleman I have had the pleasure of helping. He came across a wedding I shot at the Detroit Opera House and informed me he was hoping to have a marriage proposal at Detroit Opera House and wondered if I was available to help.

I love photographing at the Detroit Opera House. It is beautiful, grandiose, and challenging. The various levels and platforms offer a beautiful perspective and backdrop for one of life’s most special moments. A few days after the call, I met Zaid at the Detroit Opera House to location scout with him. Zaid informed me that the proposal at Detroit Opera House wouldn’t be a surprise as Amal would be coming into town from Jordan and knew of the plan. While we were walking through the venue, Amal FaceTimed Zaid and fell in love with the spot. All that was left was the finishing touches.

About two weeks later, I had the pleasure of meeting Amal and Zaid at the Detroit Opera House. Amal looked stunning and was excited for the proposal at Detroit Opera House to commence. Once we exchanged pleasantries, we set up some lights and were ready for Zaid to ask Amal for her hand in marriage. She enthusiastically said “yes.” After a few minutes of allowing them to celebrate, we utilized the beautiful backdrops of the Detroit Opera House and took some photos to commemorate the special occasion.
