Some wedding days feel effortless from start to finish, and Ilissa and Sean’s September 20, 2025, wedding at Cherry Creek Golf Club was precisely that. From the moment we arrived, a sense of joy and anticipation filled the air. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, warm, sunny, and kissed with just enough breeze to remind us that fall was near.

Getting Ready

Ilissa and Sean’s love story began years earlier at Michigan State University, where they both proudly wore green and white. It was back in November 2023, on MSU’s campus, that Sean proposed, marking the start of the next chapter in their journey. It felt so special to see them surrounded by their closest friends and family as they said “I do,” bringing everything full circle.

First Look

The day unfolded with two of our favorite moments, their first look and the private vows they exchanged with each other. Away from the crowd, it was a quiet, tender pause in the middle of an otherwise bustling wedding day. Their words to each other were filled with love and emotion, the kind of promises that remind us why we love photographing weddings in the first place. Immediately after, Ilissa shared a sweet and tearful first look with her dad, a moment equally unforgettable.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held outdoors on Cherry Creek’s grounds, with the lush golf course behind them and twinkle lights strung above. Guests watched as Ilissa and Sean exchanged vows, their smiles as wide as their hearts could be. It was a ceremony full of both laughter and happy tears, an honest reflection of who they are as a couple.

Cocktail hour gave guests time to mingle while we stole Ilissa and Sean away for portraits. And we were rewarded, the golden hour light was absolutely dreamy, painting everything in soft, romantic tones. These portraits capture not only how incredible they looked, but also the ease and joy they felt in that moment of just being together as newlyweds.

The Celebration

As evening fell, the celebration moved indoors where Ilissa and Sean’s family and friends filled the room with heartfelt toasts, shared laughter, and nonstop dancing. The energy was electric, with everyone coming together to celebrate two people so deeply loved by their community.
