Stone made the shoot a breeze. Guy shows up, dressed sharp, and full of confidence. With every pose, a few clicks was all that was needed to capture his essence and his cool, calm demeanor. Together, we visited some of Detroit’s best spots and ended Stone’s Eastern Market senior photos with an epic twilight shoot with his prestine white BMW at sunset.

We started Stone’s senior photos in Midtown, using the gray arches of an overpass bridge to frame and highlight his gray tailored suit. Stone was comfortable in front of the camera, making each shot a framer in just one click.
Before heading down to his Eastern Market senior photos, we stopped by a few spots near the Fischer Building. Again, the tone of the building complimented his outfit.
After wrapping up in the New Center area, we headed south for his Eastern Market senior photos. There is no lack of backdrops in Eastern Market for photos: murals, graffiti, garage doors, and alleys are everywhere in this location. Go back in a few months, and you will see a new mural pop up and new businesses enter. Eastern Market, rich with its history, is having its own renaissance as new breweries, restaurants, and storefronts are setting up shop.
What I love about senior photos is that, unlike wedding photos, nearly any backdrop can look good as a senior photo.
As the evening was coming to a closer, we found an empty parking lot and took a few photos with Stone’s favorite prop: his BMW. The location was perfect to catch the moody cloudy sky and the GM Renaissance Center in the distance. I always aim to showcase the personality of the senior during a shoot. Having a prop such as his car only made this goal easier.
Would it be a senior photo shoot without some Nike Jordan’s? Probably not.
