Gilly’s Rooftop Proposal

We met with Rob a few times in Detroit to find the perfect location to propose to his girlfriend, Gina. After discussing our options and visiting a few spots, he chose Gilly’s Rooftop for his surprise proposal. Gilly’s Rooftop offered the city view and an intimate space for him to propose on one knee. Rob was very considerate, thinking of every detail for Gina – from bouquets of roses to a violinist playing “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” to Dom Perignon Champagne chilling on ice; he planned it all, and we were lucky enough to capture it all! This Gilly’s Rooftop Proposal was absolutely amazing!

Rob meticulously planned every detail to make Gina feel exceptional, but what truly made this proposal exceptional was the deep bond of love between them. Gina’s reaction of pure surprise and uncontainable joy radiated from every photo captured. She was absolutely overjoyed, and Rob was on top of the world—calling it a success might just be an understatement.

After the proposal, we walked around Detroit with Rob and Gina to take some engagement photos. This allowed for Rob’s next surprise to take place, as he invited his parents, Gina’s parents, brother, and sister-in-law to arrive at Gilly’s to celebrate the engagement! As we arrived back at Gilly’s, Gina ran right into her parents at the front door; although this wasn’t the plan, it made for the perfect moment. Gina was thrilled to see them!

After that, we went to the basement of Gilly’s, a speakeasy called Sakseys, where we took a few more photos of the happy couple and their family.

The proposal was genuinely delightful; I enjoyed working with Rob, and after spending time with Gina, I fell in love with her, too! They are the most genuine, kind people, and I am beyond happy for them. Congratulations you two!
