Island House Wedding on Mackinac Island
Have you ever had so much fun in a night that the more stories you and your friends tell, the more memories start to come back? That feeling of, “OMG! Yes! That did happen…you are right!” was the feeling I got as I edited Mark and Pam’s wedding. There were so many moving parts, beautiful moments, and memories being made, it was difficult to take it all in as it was happening. Luckily, they have the photos to remember their day by.

Mark and Pam celebrated their love by hosting an Island House wedding on Mackinac Island. My morning started with coffee, fresh air, and a boat ride over to the island. After an idyllic walk through downtown, I met Mark at the Island House, where he was getting ready with the help of his son, Matt.
After Mark was ready, it was Pam’s turn to prep for the day.
This is what I love about Pam. Her infectious laugh and happiness is so warm a genuine. Throughout the entire day (and every time I see her and Mark together,) she is smiling and lighting up the room.
With both Pam and Mark ready, it was time for their first look. Mother Nature was starting to sprinkle, but that didn’t stop them from being fully present and enjoying their moment.
Despite the drizzle, their first look lasted several minutes as they reveled in each other.
Mark pulled out all of the stops for his wedding and had surprises for Pam and his guests throughout the entire day, including an intimate white carriage ride for Pam to enjoy the views of the island.
By the time we got downtown on the island, Mother Nature opened up and showered us with rain. It didn’t stop Pam and Mark from enjoying themselves and making some great memories while they were at it.
After our photo session downtown, it was time for their ceremony.
Anyone else just melt when you see the way Pam and Mark look at each other?
All smiles, all the time.
With the help of family and friends, Pam and Mark were married.
Next, it was time to celebrate their Island House wedding on Mackinac Island!
Another one of Mark’s surprises was some live Motown-inspired entertainment to help get the party started.
With the party wrapping up and the last ferry of the night leaving the island soon, we stepped outside to take one last image to remember their Island House wedding on Mackinac Island.
Best wishes Pam and Mark! With all of the talented photographers in Michigan you could have chosen, I am so grateful I was able to be a part of your wedding.

Special thanks to Laila Lindberg of Studio11.11 for helping second shoot and run the photo booth at their wedding. Also, special shout out to Bella e Dolce cakes for transporting the cake up to Mackinac Island, packed in dry ice, like it was the Stanley Cup! The day wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the hard work of Lisa and Hannah from LG Event Design who were there early, stayed late, and made sure the day went according to plan.
