Jam Handy Wedding

A fall wedding in Detroit… pure magic! Christine and Phil’s Jam Handy wedding completely fit the bill. They incorporated personal elements throughout the day along with punches of colors woven in that were both meaningful and personal. Christine even had her hair colored with blue and purple to incorporate their color love story. We met them at Shinola Hotel to begin their day and capture them getting ready for the big day! After all of these years, this was our first time photographing a Jam Handy wedding. Needless to say, we were excited…and so were Christine and Phil! Throughout the day, they were all smiles and laughs, making the whole experience memorable.

Naturally, Phil and the guys’ room was quite laid back. However, things did get a little tense when a brother vs. brother Street Fighter II tournament went down.

Once the games were over, it was time for Phil and Christine to share a first look. The Belle Isle Fountain was still on despite the dropping temperatures. With a gorgeous backdrop in place, we stayed for a few photos as well.

Next, we met up with the bridal party outside of the Detroit Public Library for some fun portraits.

One of the things we loved about Phil and Christine’s wedding was how much time they gave to themselves. We hit multiple locations on the way to the Jam Handy. The slower pace allowed them to be full present and soak it all in. Our last stop was the Fisher Building.

Finally, it was time for their Jam Handy wedding. By the time we arrived, Cindy from Cindy Decker Weddings had everything set up to perfection.

Sometimes, our favorite photos aren’t ones we plan, but ones we simply witness. Here, we caught Phil sitting down with his dad and brothers. What was said, doesn’t matter. What was felt will always remain.
