One of the greatest compliments a photographer can receive is a referral from a previous couple. When you put your all into a wedding to create images that will be cherished and an experience for the bride and groom to be remembered…for that to be recognized, appreciated, and then thought of again as a referral is an honor. When Katie and Jeremy first inquired with me, I asked how they found me. The list was long. “You photographed our friends Chris and Ali’s, Aaron and Kathleen, Emily and Jake…you are photographing Matt and Jacqueline’s wedding too.” I sat there, silent and humbled. I really am so lucky to have the support and opportunities that I do from the couples I work with. When Katie and Jeremy and Jeremy told me they were having an Oakhurst Country Club wedding, I was excited. It is a beautiful venue that I have shot before. When couples have their ceremony and reception at the same spot, it makes for a laid back, enjoyable day for them and their guests.

Katie and Jeremy started their day surrounded by family and friends as they got ready for their ceremony. Michigan weather has been completely sporadic this summer with days on end of rain. Someone was looking out for them though as their day was beautiful.
After Katie got ready with the help of her mom and bridesmaids, she wanted to have a special moment with her dad.
While Katie was getting ready upstairs, Jeremy was waiting patiently downstairs to start his day. When I arrived, he was hanging out with his groomsmen enjoying a Two Hearted and swapping stories. It was a good start to his day.
With both Jeremy and Katie ready, it was time for their first look.
After their first look, we toured around Oakhurst to take some photos. There was no shortage of beautiful backdrops.
Katie looked stunning on her wedding day. As we arrived at the next location, I wanted to photograph her and all of her beauty. All day, Katie shared a genuine, contagious smile.
Incorporating architecture into my images one of my favorite things to do. Architecture, lines, and symmetry can compliment the human emotions that a couple evokes. Here, I loved the grandeur of the house and thought it would complement their wedding attire perfectly.
After some time alone, Katie and Jeremy met up with their bridal party.
Next, it was time for their Oakhurst Country Club wedding.
Following their ceremony, we took their Oakhurst Country Club wedding inside the clubhouse, which was beautifully decorated and prompted for a night of partying.
I am so appreciative when couples are willing to work with my vision. During dinner, I peeked outside and noticed the sun was softening as we were getting towards the golden hour. Katie and Jeremy were more than happy to step outside, allowing me to capture some of my favorite images of the day.
With the sun setting and dessert plates cleared, there was only one thing left to do…
Congratulations Katie and Jeremy! Your Oakhurst Country Club wedding was beautiful, heartfelt, and beyond memorable.
