A few weeks ago, Becky and I found ourselves with consecutive weekends off, a rare treat especially in the summer. When we find ourselves in this situation, we normally book a last minute vacation somewhere to recharge and reconnect. While we were winding down, Alessandra was winding up for her Oakland Hills Country Club wedding, and for good reason – it was going to be a beautiful event! Chris and Alessandra got married at St. Hugo of the Hills before having an Oakland Hills Country Club reception.

Alessandra had a relaxing morning while getting ready at Oakland Hills Country Club. As we entered, we were greeted by Alessandra’s mom and some of her bridesmaids. Music was playing, brunch was served, and details were laid out, ready for us to start working. Even Alessandra’s grandma was present and enjoying the environment.
As hair and make up put the finishing touches on Alessandra and her bridesmaids, it was time to get dressed. Alessandra’s mom helped her into her dress.
Needless to say, Alessandra looked stunning in her dress. So much so, I wanted to create some portraits of just Alessandra to highlight her timeless beauty.
To me, one of the more sentimental moments of a wedding day is when the couple exchanges gifts before the ceremony. It is the first time the bride and groom hear from each other on the day and the card is an opportunity for a genuine expression of emotions and love. In the classiest of touches, Chris wrote his new mother-in-law a letter as well to say thank you for raising the daughter that would become his wife.
Next, Alessandra shared some fun first looks, first with her bridesmaids, then with her dad.
As Alessandra was finishing getting ready, Chris was getting started. Chris got ready at the Townsend Hotel and even helped his dad look his best.
Once Chris was all set, he hit the town with his groomsmen for some fun before stopping by Oakland Hills for a few picures.
With everyone ready, it was time for the wedding ceremony. Alessandra patiently waited in the crypt of St. Hugo of the Hills stone chapel while guests filled the seats.
I love the first kiss and the emotions that follow. For the first time during the ceremony, the bride and groom get to expression themselves. Both Chris and Alessandra were excited to be pronounced husband and wife.
After the ceremony, we took some family formals in the chapel.
Outside, a 1954 Cadillac convertible was waiting to take them to their Oakland Hills Country Club wedding reception. Chris’s impeccable style was only complimented by the car.
Finally, it was time to celebrate. Guests enjoyed themselves at cocktail hour while we took a few more pictures of the Chris and Alessandra and their bridal party.
With the chime of the dinner bells, guests made their way inside and got ready to welcome the bride and groom to their reception. Chris and Alessandra entered into their Oakland Hills Country Club wedding reception to a roaring crowd and executed a complicated choreographed first dance.
Family and friends toasted Chris and Alessandra with their choice of champagne or a special brew – Volymatrimony – from Chris’s brewery, Civil Society Brewing Co. located in Juno, Florida.
After dinner, guests were ready to party. Alessandra and her dad opened up the dance floor, followed by Chris and his mom. The Chateau Band kept the dance floor packed throughout the night.
Special thanks to the team at Beautiful Day Planning and Bella Reel Films for helping make this wedding a wild success.
