Proposal with Detroit Light Action

When Tony phoned Brian for assistance with his proposal to Stela, he had a grand vision in mind. He imagined proposing on Belle Isle, a serene location they had fond memories of from their first date. His plan included a grandiose “Marry Me” sign that would be awe-inspiring and easily visible from a distance. Brian and Tony engaged in a lengthy conversation during their initial call. It would be hard to secure the letters and permit on such a short notice. Regardless, they arranged to meet at Belle Isle to delve into the logistical details later that day and start planning Tony’s proposal with Detroit Light Action.

When Brian got home, he was so excited that we would shoot their proposal. Brian shared some details and mentioned the “Marry Me” sign, and I began to smile; how cute of an idea, and with the backdrop of Detroit, I thought it would be perfect!

Later that week, we arrived early on Belle Isle, filled with anticipation, for the proposal with Detroit Light Action. We assisted Detroit Light Action in setting up the 4-foot-tall metal letters. Each letter was meticulously placed while intrigued bystanders observed, trying to decipher the message. As soon as the ‘marry me’ sign was set up, Brian received a text from Tony that he was only minutes away. We all took a breath, got our gear ready, and took our positions, prepared for the moment Tony and Stela would arrive, a testament to our collective effort.

When they arrived, they were holding hands and chatting. A few moments later, Stela saw the message and said, “Oh look, that’s nice, someone must be getting engaged.” Without missing a beat, Tony replied “Those letters are for you.” The moment was precious; Stela covered her mouth and started to tear up, completely surprised by the grand gesture.

Of course, the answer was YES! Stela couldn’t have shown more excitement at that moment. She was overjoyed with both the proposal and the ring. I mean, could it be any more exquisite? Tony’s impeccable taste is evident in his stunning choice, perfectly complementing Stela’s beauty.

Capturing the essence of the moment, we dedicated time to take some engagement photos. I mean, why wouldn’t you want to preserve this monumental, life-changing moment for eternity? It was an absolute blast! Their radiant, permanent smiles illuminated the scene, and they were an absolute delight to work with.

At the end of the mini-engagement session, Tony brought out the champagne as he was ready to celebrate! They took their spots right before the Belle Isle fountain, and Tony began to shake up the champagne. Before we knew it, Tony popped the cork, and champagne was everywhere!

It was a perfect end to the night, a pure celebration for them to begin their lives together!
