Ski Patrol Wedding at Nubs Nob

The life of a photographer isn’t all that is cracked up to be.  I spend way more time than I like in front of a computer (read: at least 4 hours per night.)   Anytime I can find a distraction, I jump on it.

Looking at her phone, my wife started laughing.

“What is it?”

“My friend has been stalking your Instagram page and loves the photos you did of Ashley and Kyle’s wedding at Nubs Nob.  She just asked how I knew you because it shows we follow each other” she said.  “She is freaking out now that I told her we are married.”

The following weekend, Becky and I were skiing when were heard a yell.  “Becky!”  It was Emily.  After losing touch when they both left their jobs, they had reconnected online and now, on the slopes.  There is no better place to catch up than on a chairlift.

“I think we are having our wedding here on the back deck with the help of the ski patrollers,” Emily explained.  We talked a bit about the previous wedding I photographed at Nubs and how the weather was looking like it would be quite the opposite.  Rather than a blizzard and whiteout, March is known for having bluebird sky days.  It would be the perfect setting for a Ski Patrol Wedding at Nubs Nob.

 

Emily and Devin’s wedding was just like them – low key and chill (I say that as a compliment.)  We started the day with a few formals on top of the hill before having their “ski down the aisle,” where friends, family, and even onlookers were waiting for the wedding to begin.

 

Emily’s walk down the aisle was memorable.  The whole Ski Patrol lined up to help give her away to Devin.

The ceremony was quick yet memorable.  Devin was excited to not only gain a wife, but a family as well.

One last walk down the aisle, this time as Mr. & Mrs. Post!
