War Memorial Wedding Reception

Oh, Covid! How many times must you be mentioned in my blogs? Hopefully, not much longer. Last year, Rachel and Jesse had a beautiful and memorable wedding at the Grosse Pointe Academy. It was the perfect fall day: comfortable with a touch of warmth from the afternoon sun. Guests gathered outside and sat with loved ones as Rachel and Jesse committed their lives to each other. We ended their wedding day by heading over the Grosse Pointe War Memorial to take a few photos, almost as a prelude to their War Memorial wedding reception. Ideally, both celebrations would have taken place last year; however, Covid had other plans. Instead, Rachel and Jesse pushed forward with their wedding but didn’t give up the idea of celebrating with family and friends. That part of the day simply had to wait until this year…and it was worth it. Everyone was in a jovial mood and excited to shower Jesse and Rachel with love and support. In short, their War Memorial wedding reception was well worth the wait.

Rachel and Jesse arrived to their Grosse Pointe War Memorial wedding reception early to take photos prior to guests arriving. A little quiet time with each other, reflecting upon their wedding, marriage, and love, was the perfect way to start the day. The grounds of the War Memorial are beautiful and offer up many backdrops for classic and timeless wedding photos.

Later, their bridal party and family joined us for some photos.

As guests arrived, Rachel and Jesse were inside, sharing one last moment before joining their guests.

Guests filled the dancefloor after the formal dances and never left. It was going to be a fun and long night.

As my time wound down, I stole Rachel and Jesse for one last photo to cap off their War Memorial wedding reception. We finished their wedding photos in the front of the War Memorial Last year. I thought it was fitting to do the same this year.
