A Joyful May Wedding at Grosse Pointe Yacht Club | Mitchell + Allison

On May 9, we had the absolute pleasure of photographing Mitchell and Allison’s unforgettable wedding day at the beautiful Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. From the very beginning of the day to the final dance of the evening, everything about their celebration felt joyful, elegant, and full of genuine emotion. With perfect spring weather and an incredible group of family and friends surrounding them, the entire day unfolded effortlessly.

We began the morning at the yacht club, capturing individual prep photos as excitement filled the air. There is always something special about those early wedding moments: the anticipation, the laughter between bridesmaids, the final adjustments to tuxes, and the emotional moments shared with family before the ceremony begins. Allison looked stunning in her timeless gown, while Mitchell’s excitement was impossible to miss. Both of them wore huge smiles all morning, setting the tone for the entire day.

From there, everyone made their way to Star of the Sea Catholic Church for the ceremony. The church provided a beautiful, classic backdrop as Mitchell and Allison exchanged vows, surrounded by the people who love them most. One of the things that stood out most throughout the ceremony was how much these two simply enjoyed being together. Between quiet smiles, laughter, and emotional glances, it was easy to see the deep connection they share.

After the ceremony, we returned to the yacht club for portraits and their stunning reception. The spring light around the property created the perfect atmosphere for romantic photographs, while the waterfront setting added an elegant touch to every moment we captured. Throughout the day, Mitchell and Allison never stopped laughing together, and those candid moments often become the most meaningful images from a wedding day.

The reception was full of energy from start to finish. Heartfelt speeches brought tears and laughter, and the dance floor stayed packed all night. One of the biggest highlights of the evening was the surprise father-daughter dance to “You Can’t Touch This,” which had the entire room cheering and laughing along. It was such a fun and memorable moment that perfectly reflected the joyful spirit of the entire celebration.

Mitchell and Allison’s wedding day was truly one to remember.  A perfect spring wedding filled with love, laughter, family, and unforgettable memories. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to document such an amazing day for these two and wish them nothing but happiness in the years ahead.
