Brian and I were so excited as Mas and Kieu’s wedding day approached. We couldn’t wait to celebrate their union and capture this special day for our friend and fellow wedding vendor. We had been a part of their proposal the year before, so their wedding was even more meaningful to us. Mas and Kieu’s wedding at Oakhurst Country Club was filled with love, gratitude, and many moments of happy tears.
Our day started with Kieu, who radiated elegance with every detail chosen for her wedding. Every aspect reflected her grace and sophistication, from her stunning blue shoes to her sparkling diamond earrings and delicate lace veil.
Mas welcomed us with a calm composure, exuding an air of preparedness for the day ahead. His demeanor set a peaceful tone for the morning, making everything flow effortlessly. We worked through his preparations easily and with laughter, Mas smiling and looking forward to seeing Kieu walk down the aisle.
We arrived at the church to prepare for Kieu to walk down the aisle. The church was full of family and friends, many of whom had traveled far, some from outside the country, to witness this beautiful union. The warmth and excitement in the church was palpable as it came time for Mas and Kieu to exchange their vows. As Kieu walked down the aisle, her happiness was evident. Kieu has an infectious smile that can light up the entire room.
The ceremony was full of traditional elements, including readings, music, and their vow exchange. Once they were pronounced husband and wife, the church erupted in applause, and the guests got to their feet as Mas and Kieu walked down the aisle hand in hand.
We went to downtown Detroit to take some portraits of Mas and Kieu. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t ideal, as we had to dodge raindrops, but we made the best of it using the city’s architecture and a trusty umbrella. I love these photos because it was the first time they were alone outside the busyness of the wedding day. You can see how happy and genuine they were in each other’s presence.
After spending time in Detroit, we returned to the wedding at Oakhurst Country Club. The rain had stopped, so we gathered the bridal party for outdoor photos. Oakhurst Country Club has beautiful grounds, allowing us to capture both the elegance of the club and the beauty of nature. Working with the bridal party was an absolute delight, and their infectious energy made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
As we spent time with the bridal party, we eagerly anticipated Mas and Kieu’s grand entrance, which began their first dance. The air was full of emotion as we listened to heartfelt speeches from family members, and we were deeply moved when Mas expressed his love and admiration for his wife, Kieu. His beautiful words brought tears to both Brian’s and my eyes.
After the speeches and dinner, it was time to open up the dance floor. But before the dancing started, Kieu did the traditional bouquet toss, a fun moment that was beautifully captured. I loved the expression on Kieu’s face and the excitement she felt.
Then the dance floor opened, and Kieu and Mas were ready to celebrate. Everyone joined, and once the foam glow light sticks came out, we knew it was going to be a fun night!
We took a break from the dance floor to cool down and allowed Mas and Kieu to take a few more photos together before the night ended. We went out underneath the twinkle lights at Oakhurst Country Club, a perfect way to end their wedding.
Congratulations, Mas and Kieu! We wish you all the best. Enjoy your upcoming honeymoon in Hawaii!
