Wedding Photography at Sycamore Hills Golf Club
Kristen and Lance met in high school; he was the outgoing, gregarious, life of the party. Kristen was the reserved, quiet girl. Even though they both went to high school together, they didn’t really cross paths until they attended a church camp, where Kristen caught Lance’s eye. The rest, as they say, is history.
Kristen and Lance decided to do their wedding photography at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Macomb, Michigan. Kristen’s day started off on a quiet note; only her family was there as she got ready. Still, laughter and story telling filled the air as Kristen became a bride.
After Kristen was ready, we headed to Sycamore Hills, where Lance was waiting for their first look.
I love this photo. This is how a bride should look at her groom on her wedding day – with pure excitement.
After their first look, we went to downtown Detroit to photograph some formals of the two of them.
As beautiful as Kristen looked and as easy as they were to pose, a special side came out of both of them when the camera was “turned off” and they just got to be in each other’s presence. (Of course, the camera wasn’t turned off…I am always looking for some good candids!)
Before heading back to Sycamore Hills for their ceremony and reception, we stopped at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
With the Royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently taking place, I wanted to create my own iconic, Royal-inspired image. Personally, I think these two did it better.
Once back at the venue, the wedding photography at Sycamore Hills Golf Club began.
After a brief ceremony, it was time to photograph the bridal party.
Next, the only thing left was to celebrate and party. The speeches were heartfelt, touching, and funny. Most importantly, like everything that day, they were backed by the love and support of those closest to Kristen and Lance.
