Blake’s Cider Mill Engagement Session

When Melissa emailed me to tell me she was engaged, it was like getting a phone call from an old friend.  I was so excited for her and overcome with warm feelings.  She is such a special and genuine person, I knew the person she would marry would be equally as special.  Enter Adriano.  Normally when I meet with the bride and groom to talk about their wedding, the groom tends to be a bit more quiet.  Upon meeting Adriano, the consultation turned into a conversation, laughter, and friendship.  Blake’s Cider Mill Engagement Session

Two months later, Melissa emailed me to let me know they would be flying in from Florida for the weekend and wondered if I could squeeze them in for their engagement shoot.  The weather was calling for overcast and rain, but they were troopers.  They wanted to capture the quintessential Michigan fall scene: an apple orchard.  We went to Blake’s Cider Mill and quickly shot before the rain came.  The weather wasn’t perfect, but their session was.  It was great wandering around the orchard and watching these two enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Tucked away in the corner of the orchard was a pumpkin patch.  I loved the splash of orange among the earth tone colors of their clothes.

Special thanks to Adriano and Melissa for sending me home with a dozen of Blake’s fresh donuts and a half gallon of cider.  Full disclaimer: not all donuts made it safely home.  Some may have been eaten on the ride home for safety concerns.  Blake’s Cider Mill Engagement Session in Armada, Michigan was a complete success.
