When Lauren and I met for her initial wedding consultation, it was pleasant, but also all business. Lauren came from work, dressed in a suit, and greeted me with a firm handshake. I was impressed and proud. I knew Lauren in high school and practiced that handshake with her before her DECA and BPA conferences and competition. Needless to say, it was enjoyable catching up after a few years and seeing that all of her discipline and sacrifices were paying off. The one thing that was missing from the consultation was her fiancé, Troy. He travels for work and was unable to attend. I knew Troy must have been a special guy to win the heart of someone as kind and special as Lauren. What was even more interesting was when Lauren started to talk about him, her professionalism relaxed a bit and a smile washed over her face. Needless to say, my hunch was correct. Before wrapping up our engagement session, we had to pay homage to Lauren’s Italian heritage and family. Her father owns and operates a produce stand at Eastern Market.
