Detroit Lions Ford Field Engagement Session
Heather: “Hi Brian, it’s Heather here. Eric and I would like to start planning our engagement session. We have access to Ford Field. Do you think that work for a location?” Detroit Lions Ford Field Engagement Session
Me: (coughing up my coffee from excitement) “Um, yes!”
If there is anyone who should win the “Fiancé of the Year Award” for pulling of the best engagement session location to her Lions-fan-for-life husband-to-be, that would be Heather. She was able to gain access to all of Ford Field for their engagement session and I was the lucky one to be invited along to document it. As soon as the thought of shooting at Ford Field was mentioned, my mind started racing about lights, angles, stories, and whether or not I would happen to bump into Matthew Stafford. (Spoiler Alert: I didn’t.) Heather and Eric had an epic Detroit Lions Ford Field Engagement Session.
We started our engagement session and stadium tour upstairs. The excitement and enthusiasm for the shoot was shared among all of us. For me, it was a new and unique canvas to shoot against. For Eric, it was a dream com true. Detroit Lions Ford Field Engagement Session was shot by BTW Photography.
After touring the upper bowl and box seats, we headed down to the locker room, where Heather and Eric found Matthew Stafford’s #9 locker. Naturally, we had to take some photos in front of it. The people at Ford Field surprised us with his and her name plates above their own lockers as well. It was a classy and thoughtful touch on behalf of the Detroit Lions. After the lockers, we made our way down the tunnel and onto the field. Everywhere I looked was a new and inspiring place to shoot.
As soon as we made our way onto the field, the inner child in all of us came out. Eric started playing catch and threw a “touchdown” to Heather. He later performed his best TD catch and goalpost dunk to a screaming crowd of…one. (The roar of the crowd was much larger in his head.) I think we all had as much fun playing on the field as we did creating the images that we did. Fun was had at their Detroit Lions Ford Field Engagement Session.
By far, my favorite shot of the day was this one below. I have shot in stadiums before and always wanted to take an aerial image of a couple. For me, this was the signature shot of the day.
