Some engagement sessions simply feel effortless, and Erica and Shon’s Detroit engagement photos on June 25, 2026, were exactly that. From the moment we met up, their excitement was contagious. They arrived ready to laugh, have fun, and simply enjoy spending time together, making our job feel less like work and more like documenting an unforgettable date night in one of our favorite cities.
Detroit provided the perfect backdrop for their session. The city’s timeless architecture, wide open spaces, and warm summer evening created an incredible canvas, but it was the connection between Erica and Shon that truly brought every image to life. Whether they were sitting together on the marble steps sharing a genuine laugh or embracing in front of one of Detroit’s iconic landmarks, every moment felt authentic and completely natural.
What we loved most about this session was how relaxed everything felt. Erica and Shon trusted the process, embraced every moment, and weren’t afraid to laugh at themselves. Those are always the ingredients for an incredible engagement session, and the result is a gallery filled with images that truly reflect this exciting season of their lives.
As the sun began to lower in the sky, Detroit gave us everything photographers hope for. The golden evening light wrapped around Erica and Shon beautifully, creating a soft, romantic glow that made every location feel magical. The warm sunlight paired perfectly with the elegant neutral tones they chose for their outfits, allowing the focus to remain exactly where it belonged—on the two of them.
One of our favorite parts of the evening happened completely on its own, a spontaneous mini dance session. Without any prompting, the two of them started dancing, laughing, and playfully showing off their best moves. Those unscripted moments are often the ones couples treasure the most because they perfectly reflect who they are together. There wasn’t a single forced smile throughout the evening, just genuine joy, endless laughter, and the kind of chemistry that makes photographing a couple so much fun.
