Elegant Winter Wedding at the Detroit Athletic Club

Evan and Katie’s Elegant Winter Wedding at the Detroit Athletic Club was the perfect celebration to kick off February. Having photographed both of Evan’s brothers’ weddings and even Evan’s surprise proposal to Katie, it’s safe to say we know and adore this family. Being invited back to document another milestone meant so much to us.

Getting Ready

The day began with individual preparations inside the timeless spaces of the Detroit Athletic Club. There’s something especially beautiful about winter light streaming through those historic windows. After capturing their details and candid moments with family, we completed bridal party and family portraits on site before heading to their ceremony at Saints Peter and Paul Church. Their ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, a meaningful exchange surrounded by their closest loved ones.

The Ceremony

Their ceremony at Saints Peter and Paul was nothing short of unforgettable. As Katie walked down the aisle and the two saw each other for the first time, there wasn’t a dry eye in the church. The emotion in that moment was palpable; a beautiful mix of anticipation, joy, and deep love.

The Travel

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued aboard a party bus as we documented all the in-between laughter, cheers, and spontaneous moments that make wedding days unforgettable. Even in February, Detroit showed up for Evan and Katie. We made a stop at Michigan Central Station for portraits of the two of them. While the winter air limited our time outside, we were gifted sunshine and blue skies, a rare and stunning backdrop for their downtown Detroit wedding portraits.

The Celebration

We then returned to the Detroit Athletic Club for cocktail hour and an unforgettable reception, a perfect continuation of their elegant winter wedding at the Detroit Athletic Club. From their grand entrance to the heartfelt toasts, the energy in the room steadily built throughout the evening. As soon as the live band began to play, the dance floor filled and never emptied. It was truly a celebration in every sense of the word, the kind of night where guests are smiling, singing along, and savoring every moment together.

Evan and Katie, thank you for trusting us with your beautiful wedding day. It’s also been such an honor to document so many meaningful milestones for your family over the years.
