Rachel and Dan’s Meadowbrook Hall Engagement Session
When Rachel and Dan called me to talk about wedding photography, I was tickled when they told me how they found me. “You photographed our friends’ wedding, Shaina and Terry at Meadowbrook as well” Rachel explained. That was nearly five years ago and I remember it well. We had a blast! Fast forward a few months and I met Rachel and Dan at there to photograph their Meadowbrook Hall engagement session. As I dialed in my settings, I took one test shot…
I looked at the back of the camera and saw the photo above. Dan laughing naturally. Rachel smiling widely. Both totally present and enjoying the comfort of each other’s company. I smiled, watched for a few seconds, and thought to myself, if this is how they are naturally around each other, it is going to be a great session and wedding. And it was. The warmth and connection between Rachel and Dan showed in every frame. We toured around the grounds, photographing at various places for their Meadowbrook Hall engagement session. What I love about this is we will be back exactly one year from their session to photograph their wedding there.
Dan and Rachel were so outwardly expressive, it was the candid moments in between poses that quickly became my favorite images.
During both engagement sessions and wedding days, I always like taking a few pictures of the bride and groom alone. Once Dan sat down, he gave me his best Blue Steel before his infectious laughter came through.
I love photographing Meadowbrook Hall engagement sessions and weddings. There are so many beautiful backdrops to work with, I always find myself wanting more time to shoot.
After our session outdoors, we went inside hoping to use some of the hallways and architecture. Because tours will still occurring, we snuck off into a corner of the mansion for a little privacy.
