Millennium Park Proposal Chicago
It was a wild 48 hours: 9 inches of snow blanketed Detroit with no end in sight. Jackie and Chris had a gorgeous wedding at the Inn at St. John’s. Get home, charge the batteries, download the photos, back them up, check the back ups, pack, shower, sleep (or nap really), hit the 5:00 a.m. alarm clock, and leave for Metro Detroit Airport. Fly, land, check-in, scout the location, send confirmation photos to Sam of where I will be standing, wait, wait, wait…3:05…I see him! Millennium Park Proposal Chicago

A few weeks ago, Sam told me he was going ask Laura to be his wife. I couldn’t have been happier for them. Both Sam and Laura are amazing, hard working people who care about anyone who is lucky enough to be in their lives. We started bouncing around ideas for the proposal, but none of the ideas seemed to click. It just wasn’t “them.” Millennium Park Proposal Chicago
Wednesday. Sam and Laura’s Millennium Park Proposal Chicago.
After Sam picked up the ring, he was very excited to show me and finalize the plans. “I think I am going to do it this weekend,” he tells me. “Laura and I love Chicago. It is our place.” I am excited for him, but at the same time, I am internally hanging my head – I know I am booked solid. I have shot some engagement sessions before in Chicago and LOVE the city. It is gorgeous and is filled with beautiful locations and backdrops. I suggest two different spots to Sam and, after seeing photos I took of Millennium Park, he tells me, “That’s it! That is the spot. It is perfect.”
I went to bed that night excited for Sam and somewhat disappointed because I didn’t think I could make it. As I laid in bed, I woke my wife and told her, “I think I can make it happen. Shoot the wedding. Have everything ready by the morning. Reschedule the shoot I have on Saturday to Tuesday. Catch a red eye in the morning, shoot the proposal and engagement session, then leave early Sunday. Flight lands at 1:30 and I can make it to Grand Blanc for my 4:00. I think I can make it work.” She tells me I am crazy but to go for it. Millennium Park Proposal Chicago
I texted Sam at 6:00 a.m. the next morning. “Sam, I think I can make it if you want me there.” Game on.
It was an epic proposal, not because it was over-the-top romantic with rose pedals and violins, but because of the couple that they are. They work hard, at their careers, at life, and at love. They are a team. And for one very special moment, I got to be a part of that team. Millennium Park Proposal Chicago
Congratulations Sam and Laura! I am so, so happy for you. Let’s celebrate!
