Harbor Springs Nubs Nob Bay Harbor Wedding
Ashley and Kyle may have had my dream wedding – a hilltop, Nubs Nob wedding.
I am not one to share too much of myself online or on social media, but I have a few loves in my life. Photography, my wife, Capone, my dog, and skiing are at the top (in no particular order). I have been skiing since the age of 3 and, unlike most people, actually look forward to winter. The more snow, the better. Nothing makes me forget about all of the day’s responsibilities like sliding down a snow-covered hill. So when your ski buddy calls you up and tells you they are getting married on top of the local ski hill, you know it is going to be the perfect wedding for you to photograph. I have skied with Ashley at Nubs Nob for almost 20 years. Plain and simple, she rips. It is hard to keep up with her. She skis hard, so anyone who plans on skiing with her, let alone marrying her, better be up for waking up early for first chair, skiing laps on powder days, and staying after the lifts close for some aprés ski. When she told me she was engaged to Kyle, I knew he had to be as equally fun as Ashley. (Spoiler: I was right.)
Ashley and Kyle got married on top of Nubs Nob, their childhood ski hill. They started the day getting ready at the Inn at Bay Harbor, in Petoskey. Much to our surprise, their wedding day turned out to dump snow. Lots of snow. Every time I looked down, my camera was covered in snow. Not dusted in snow, covered in snow. Ashley and Kyle had an intimate wedding with about 20 of their friends and family on top of Nubs. We spent the afternoon exploring out of bounds, finding gorgeous places to shoot, and hiking in to get the shot. It was certainly a wedding to remember.
Best wishes to you two. Save me a chair. I will catch you guys on the blue. Harbor Springs Nubs Nob Bay Harbor Wedding
