A few months ago, I blogged about the fun I had hanging out with Stephanie and Dylan on Michigan State’s campus. It was a very memorable afternoon as Stephanie and I compared classroom notes and stores (we are both teachers.) The warmth and friendship that was displayed between Stephanie and Dylan during their engagement session was obvious and very easy to capture; the photos came out great. Driving home from MSU, I was excited to shoot their wedding. About three weeks ago, their day finally came and I was ready, camera in hand. They had a Reserve Birmingham wedding.
Stephanie and Dylan’s wedding took place at The Reserve, just outside of downtown Birmingham. It is a beautiful venue that offers both a ceremony and reception venue. Dylan got ready right around the corner from The Reserve, while Stephanie got ready at the posh Townsend Hotel, Birmingham’s finest luxury hotel.
With all events taking place in Birmingham, the day was laid-back and stress free. Dylan and Stephanie shared a quiet and intimate first look. Stephanie’s bohemian-influenced wedding dress was both gorgeous and unique. Dylan, her bridesmaids, and everyone else who saw it agreed.
Birmingham offered Dylan and Stephanie a mix of city and nature backdrops for their wedding pictures. After their first look, we headed to the Rogue River to snap a few images before wandering more of the downtown streets.
Once we met up with the bridal party, we headed to the Community House for some portraits.
The front facade of the Community House served as the perfect backdrop for the bridesmaids’ dresses to stand out against. Next, we headed to the Reserve Birmingham wedding.
In a classy and memorable touch, family surprised Stephanie and Dylan by putting their names on the downtown marquee. After, we headed to their Reserve Birmingham wedding.
Next, Dylan and Stephanie were surrounded by family and friends at their ceremony.
As the events turned from ceremony to reception, everyone greeted Stephanie and Dylan with smiles, hugs, and congratulations. I soon understood where the warmth of the couple that I felt months ago came from: their families. Everyone was loving and supportive. It wasn’t just the celebration of a wedding; it was the building of a marriage. Reserve Birmingham wedding.
