Tim & Lincoln’s Waterview Loft Wedding: A Celebration of Love and City Pride
Some love stories come full circle, and Tim and Lincoln’s is one of those we’ll never forget. We first met them in December of 2023 when Tim pulled off a heartfelt surprise proposal. The joy and emotion of that day still stand out in our minds, so when they reached out to us to capture their Waterview Loft wedding in the summer of 2025, we knew it was going to be something extraordinary.
Getting Ready
On August 15, 2025, their wedding day began at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Both grooms prepared for the day in the company of their closest friends and family. The morning was filled with nervous excitement, bursts of laughter, and tender moments that spoke volumes about the love surrounding them.
The First Look
Their first look at the Detroit Institute of Arts was nothing short of magical. As soon as Lincoln turned around, Tim’s face lit up in a way that only happens once in a lifetime. It was a quiet, private pause in an otherwise full day—just the two of them taking in the moment before stepping into forever together.
The Gathering
From there, their celebration wove itself through some of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks. We stopped for portraits at Michigan Central Station, stood beneath the power and symbolism of the Spirit of Detroit, and soaked up the energy of the city streets. Each location felt intentional—an homage to the city that shaped their story. Their wedding party joined in the fun with a stop at the Apparatus Room, where laughter, clinking glasses, and snacks made for candid, joy-filled moments..
The Ceremony
The evening came to life at the Waterview Loft, where the sweeping views of the Detroit River, the Ambassador Bridge, and the city skyline created a breathtaking backdrop. With floor-to-ceiling windows framing the celebration, it felt as though the entire city was celebrating with Tim and Lincoln.
What stood out most about their day wasn’t just the stunning settings or the thoughtful details, but the way they looked at each other—like they were home, no matter where they stood. Being able to capture not only their surprise proposal but also their wedding felt like being entrusted with the chapters of a love story we’ll always cherish.
The Celebration
Tim and Lincoln’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their marriage—it was a celebration of love, family, and a city that holds so much meaning for them. And for us, it was a privilege to witness and preserve every moment.
