Lifestyle Engagement Session

Well say “Hello” (again) to Clementine! This sweet pup was last captured during the surprise proposal of Rose and Joey back in January in the wintery woods. Clementine played a big part of the proposal and, of course, played a role during their lifestyle engagement session in Detroit.

When we first walked into their Detroit home, it was such a warm and welcoming vibe. Their eclectic style was infused in every aspect of their home. From the stylized drink cart and the record player softly playing Kacey Musgraves to the vintage wall art collage, it was the perfect setting for their lifestyle engagement session! Being in their home made it personal and comfortable for them and also Clementine.

Joey opened a bottle of wine to celebrate and kick off the their session. They cozied up while we captured some intimate moments that were all full of laughter and smiles.

There home showcased a large window wall which allowed for beautiful lighting to shine in on them. The sun and chilled wine was such a change from their proposal in the snow. No matter the weather though, these two are just full of smiles and love.

The photography in this spot was so warm and welcoming. Even their succulents were perking up in the sunshine.

With their home being in the city we decided to take some photos outside. On our way out of their building, we even captured some photos in the hallway near an emergency exit. There are opportunities to shoot just about anywhere.

Joey and Rose were so comfortable laughing and chatting together. They made our job easy! These two are such a genuine and kind couple, which resonated through the camera. The afternoon felt like we were hanging out with friends. Such a fun lifestyle engagement session!

The last stop of our shoot was the most adorable cafe – Cafe Sous Terre – subtly located in the basement of an apartment. Definitely worth checking out for a coffee or a cocktail. Here, Joey and Rose met with family and friends to celebrate their engagement.
